Nathanial Holben
Nate Holben AKA Bronze Holbein is a metal manipulator from Martinez, CA.
He has been summoning sculptures from the void since 2009, when he made his first steel sculpture at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo. After discovering his love for sculpture and welding, he began pursuing both extensively and has been up-cycling scrap metal into art ever since. In 2017, Nate returned to the Bay Area and began working with Artworks Foundry in Berkeley, where he assisted in the production of numerous bronze sculptures and monuments, learning valuable lessons about public art and honing his skills as a sculptor in the process. He left the foundry in 2021 and now works as a welder-fabricator in Richmond, where he uses leftover materials from welding jobs to produce his unique form of metal art. He is currently in the process of creating a new artist collective, “SINC” where he plans to gather fellow aspiring artists who wish to share their work in the East Bay Area. The debut exhibition for Strength in Numbers Collective will be at Five Suns Brewing on 11/11/22. Bronze Holbein is available for commissions and his art can be found in several places around Martinez: Five Suns Brewing, Gilded Frond, and most recently.. Main Street Arts Gallery. He can be reached for metalwork inquiries at [email protected]. |
