Member, Arts Benicia Member, Martinez Art Association Member, Jade Fon Saturday Painters Member, Contra Costa Plein Air Painters Member, California Writers Club, Mount Diablo Branch “Once again, I will be an artist in residence in Yosemite National Park from September 13-20, 2025, at the Conservancy’s Nature Center at Happy Isles. I will be teaching a class in sketching with charcoal and pastels, ink wash and watercolors.” I’ve been drawing, painting and building things all my life. I majored in art and graphic design at California State University, Long Beach and did graphic design, production management, editing and sales in the printing industry for 40 years. About 15 years ago I picked up my brushes again and began my second career as an oil painter. My main areas of focus are plein air and studio oil painting of landscapes, still lifes and charcoal / pastel drawings of the human figure. I’ve also enjoyed teaching basic drawing classes to my students at the Lynn House Gallery in Antioch and as a special artist in residence at the Happy Isles Nature Center in Yosemite National Park. |

I discussed my writing process and read excerpts from my novels. |
